Description
Everybody was devistated when the death of the king and young prince broke out. Sarabi was trying so hard to hold back tears; but hid in the cave everynight and wished to be alone to pay her respects to her husband and son. The rest of the pride where shocked, the unexpected had happened and now Scar was in charge. Sarafina tried to comfort Nala and Mheetu, but it was no use. That night Sarafina took Nala and Mheetu out to a beautiful quite place.
"Why are we here, mum?" Nala sniffed, with little Mheetu weeping on her back.
"Oh, you'll see..." Her mother answered, reasuringly.
Sarafina picked up Nala and Mheetu and placed them on her back then began;
"Because you two are growing up I will tell you this," she said, looking up to the stars "Mufasa and Simba are stars now, and they look down on us everynight. They watch over us and protect us from bad things happening..."
"Who else is up there, mama?" Mheetu asked
"Well all the great kings of the past live up there, once the sun has set on there time as king." Sarafina said with a sweet voice
"Is daddy up there?" Nala asked
"...yes. Daddy is up there, he was a great king; until I became pregnant with you. He gave up his duties and moved with me to the pridelands. Then a few years later I got pregnant again, but one day your father went out for a hunt and didn't come back. I went out looking for him with Sarabi to support me ,incase I would give birth while out searching, then I saw him... Your fathers carcas on the sandy ground; hyena's had got him..."
"Oh..." Nala whispered
"But don't cry, my darlings! He is always there to look after you with Mufasa and Simba; amd I always will be too..." Sarafina purred
After a year Nala was a young, indipendant lioness and was growing even more by the day. She stayed strong for Mheetu and her mother, but the pridelands were dying. Under Scar's reign all the animals had fleed and the land was wilting and fading away, the lionesses were starving and the hyena's were now more dominate. Scar was looking for a new queen now, he had first thought Sarabi but she had many miscarriges and still-births before AND after Simba. Sarafina was his next choice, but she was protected by all the other lioness. But now, he knew who he wanted; Nala.
